Is this an Estelle? came before the 120LS . I didnt know they were sold here new, or is it a new plate on an old model?

Is the mystery car a Singer 1500 or a 1950s Wolseley.

And the Jaguars? is there 2 sunroofs on the car?

Volvo red p1800s - what is the car in the background. Notice that
the Corolla has no tax or insurance.....

I think it's the other stripped down P1800 from the previous picture. Looks like they're in the same yard.

yes it is the same yard, and there are 3 volvos and a mark 1 escort in it. none of the volos are for sale but the escort is but it needs alot of work

To be even more pedantic -

The 1800ES is a 'shooting brake', not 'break'.

Every 1800 after the original Jensen built P1800 shouldn't have a 'P' in its name at all. The models went - P1800, 1800S, 1800E, 1800ES.

The red Volvo looks like it's a 1800S - it's got the clear indicators (P1800 only) and cow-horn bumpers (P1800 and 1800S models), but the hubcaps are the 1800S variety. Odds are higher on a 1800S surviving the rust bug this long too.

    Re the Volvo's:
    anorak mode on:

Actually, the correct name for the car in the pictures is the Volvo P1800. The sample picture used here, is a car from the first series, with the Jensen V-sign on the C-pillar
The production then moved to Sweden after about a year, because of the woefully bad bodywork that was created by Jensen in the UK. These Swedish cars where then called P1800 S.
The "ES" refered to above, was the "Shooting break" style P1800 with the glass hatch door. To make things even more confusion, there also was P1800 E, which had the fuel injection that was introduced in the saloon versions in the early seventies...
Nevertheless, wonderfully entertaining little sports cars, combining sporty feel with the rugged reliability of the proven and tested Volvo mechanics. You could literally use these cars on a daily basis!

Thanks for putting that straight Alastair, I hang my head in shame :D

Well, I can only throw up in my defence, that on the continent, France in particular, 'Break' is used as the word for Estate/Stationwagon (or even Combi as the Germans would say), so I guess I wasn't too far off.... but you're absolutely right, it stems from the old days of the horse and carriage, where a "Brake" was a certain type of cart...

At least I didn;t use the word "break" together in one sentence with: "I was breaking hard, but the car just wouldn't stop...:D :P

Only the MK1,MK2 Fiestas didnt have half the build quality.Besides, the MK2 is only a tarted up MK1 which looks far better IMO.
