I think thats a U2 car, there were a few of them used to promote an album.

I also spot among that stash of classics a Fiat 1100 millecento and a VW splitscreen behind the Bedford British Army regd ambulance. Amazed to see an original Irish regd Opel Kadett A still surviving. Is HZA a Renault Gordini or an ordinary Dauphine?

all my last set of pics have been deleted at the owners request.
The pics caused to much hassle for him and i have to many PM's about them. they where also linked on other sites by members from here (Not Cool  )
the cars in the pics ARE NOT FOR SALE!!
any worth saving ARE being saved
thats why they are there in the first place.

I won't be answering anymore PM's about them

A 2CV wouldn't pull the skin of a rice puddin'.

No history, apparently it will be restored. All windows are broken, headlin ing gone and some interior is missing.Still looks impressive though.Would make a nice solid banger racer though..lol joking! As for the tow hitch on the bumper, its as solid as a iron girder there. They are definatly bumpers!!

Where was the pic on the trailer taken?

Surely some of ye history heads would know something about that car?

I saw one of those Mercedes about 20 years ago abandoned outside the scrapyard at the back of the West pier in Dun Laoghaire.

I saw a green one, which looked like it was being restored, at the back of Europa in Blackrock about 15 years ago

...........yeah apparantly one of only 14 RHD examples built. We had a small gathering a Newbridge House in Donabate on Sunday last. I think 16 or 17 cars showed up and we were allowed to display park on the grass in front of the house. Really drew quite a crwod of onlookers.

Kev I do remember that car, I had forgotten about it.I think I last saw it at the Jag show, perhaps in Blackrock ??

The green Ponton at Europa was retored and owned by a Club member for years though I met him at Mosney and he said he sold it some years back and it hasn't been seen since !

That wine red one is lovely !

This is my first "today I saw an abandoned classic" posting. Saw this in Dublin city on the weekend - just off Leeson St. I'm not terribly familiar with older European cars - so I don't know exactly what model of VW it is.... an old Vento??

What frightened me, is that it's taxed and insured? The insurance co I deal with is VERY strict with NCT compliance - and this bad boy hasn't been NCTd since 06!
