What is it with some people who have fields full of cars and refuse to sell any of them? What are they keeping them for? That one in Mayo has one of my all time favourites, looking fairly intact ( the Ford Consul/Zephyr) the first police car I ever remember and a prime candidate for restoration. There ought to be a law!!!!!

So you could convert it to scrap no doubt.

i think thats the variant in the top corner of the sunbeam pic, a fastback 3, the van was a left hooker but i have a number for that man and he'll part with some of them cars for small money.

with regard to the first pics, there used to be far more cars in the fields around but there was a digger and a skip there today so id imagine a lot has been dumped, from my own memory there were loads of granadas, a fiat x1/9, a couple of fiestas and a lot of other stuff that are gone

just once i would love to find a type 4 in an irish scrap yard.
still good to see a type 3, but i don't own one (yet:o)

most of the vans here are lefties anyway

can you PM me his number?

So many Anglia/Prefect 100E/105E's (mostly Black..Cork built?)in those pictures. I wonder seeing as I cant see numberplates if they are all recent UK imports? Or maybe he's cleaned up every ditch and field in the west of Ireland. I can spot a Zephyr/Zodiac in that photo and the remains of a Renault 16 (green car next to ZO regd Wolseley 16/60.

Yeah, you would think there should be no problem until you go looking, I'm sure there is one somewhere, but nearly all the rear wheel drive models have gone now appart from ones being maintained as classics...
