Is the car on the left an 80s import? Was the blue car sold here new in LHD? And a nice Renault Floride/Caravelle in the background :-)

Don't really know the story.. All i know is that one is LHD and the other is RHD :D

The lighter blue one used to be around Cork city in the 80's, it used to be owned by the owner of CP Autos in Beasley street, I remember the other one too for somewhere. There's also some Polish guy buying up classic cars on donedeal for export too as far as I know.http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/vintagecars/1526202 Maybe it's the same fella, it's a pity if our classics start leaving the country just as things were getting good. A lot of people I know have sold off their classic as they can't afford to keep them anymore.

892MPI is a mid '82 Number Cork City.
828HZB is mid 1981 Cork County.
So that makes them both imports.

^ Did you happen to catch the name of motor dealer written on the bottom of the plate?

    It's blurred.

Reason I ask because I suspect it's the same dealer my own Escort Mk3 came from (plate font is uniquely the same, Can't remember the name of the dealer now. Some place in Yougal).

I did, yes. ZF4431 and had was last taxed in '62.
I obtained permission to remove the car from the solicitor handling the estate and along with a few friends we cut it up and dragged it out all in the space of a few hours.
And put the fairytale of the famous Customline V8 in Killester to bed once and for all :D

No, not in Ireland :( but in a suburb called Jouy-en-Josas, south of Paris. Its called appropriately enough 'Long term parking' and took 6 years to build by a sculptor called Arman. It was unveiled in I982 and consists of 59 cars in I800 tonnes of concrete. It used to be polished every day but has fallen into decay in recent years and apparently the people in the area didnt know it existed as it isn't on any tourist guide. Its in the grounds of the Cartier Foundation.

Oh man, there is a Honda S600 in there. Very rare and very hard to find parts for. Also extremely collectible now.
