  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,783 ✭✭✭rugbyman

I was sure for a sec that it was an imp, but two h lights suggest a sunbeam or singer, yes still an imp, but the shape/size seems wrong, 125 is not a mad guess, but?

    ramble over.

It's a variant of an Imp shall we say.

Sunbeam Imp Sport or Stiletto or maybe a Singer Chamois, but deffo from the Imp family.

In the 23 years I've lived in Firhouse, I can't believe I never saw this Starlet until today! By the looks of it, it's well past its best-before date... :

I take it the KP40 (1973-78) was not sold here? Never seen one anyway. Was there CKD assembly of the KP60 here at some stage?

I know where that car is, its been sitting there for a long time, I remember seeing it back around 2001/2002 sitting there when i was around 12 yrs old, probably was off the road since late 90s or so. One time I walked up that road it was on 4/5 yrs yrs ago and didnt stop to look at it as there was a vicious dog in the farmyard barking, it wasnt tied up or anything luckily I didnt get chased. It used to be full of cardboard boxes I think

If that reg is "36x MRI", it's been off the road since at least the mid '90s as it's not in the databases on the websites - only 361MRI is listed, and (no surprises) it's a Beetle.

MRI was issued from 12/74-1/75 and the first reg of 1975 Dublin was 521MRI, so its the last week or so of December 1974.

Wicklow Reg there's another one in the same yard , blue kildare reg. to make restoring either worthwhile would need to belong to someone important to you.
