Guys...unusual problem happening with the brother's connection. He's unable to access certain secure websites - some of these are myhome.ie and ladbrokes.com - Can't understand what the problem is. He recently changed the router to a belkin mimo G+ but should this affect the access?? He's currently using Eirom as his ISP. Both Belkin and Eircom blame the other. Any thoughts??

You're going to have to be more specific

    1. What error is he getting when this happens?

    2. Does this happen with all secure websites? or just some?

    3. Can you switch back to set-up without new router? Just to see if that is your problem

    Smartblaa -

    1. He's not getting any error message as such. The progress bar simply keeps going but nothing displays.

    2. Doesn't happen with all websites - just a handfull like myhome.ie, ladbrokes.com etc. - He can access 90%

    3. If I set it back up for him (the old router - netopia) I'm fairly sure it would work but don't want to have to switch it all around again..

    cheers..Dave.

The quickest way to know for sure is to use the old router again , it should still have its old settings anyway. If it was working before , its more than likely the Belkin.

Quick advice on secure sites, specially as only the router setup has changed is to change the MTU size on the new Belkin router to something like 1492 or less maybe even 1462 and see if that helps. The MTU size change should be on the WAN page of the belkin web based gui
