question about student credit card

hey,
does anyone know which is the best student credit card out there, i have looked at afew but don't know which one to go with.
and also if the card is in credit is there a charge to use it in another country, i.e. the states

Halifax dont do student c/c's but you might be able to get one if you were working part time

PTSB want you to use 3V cards!!

Therefore BOI would be the most competitive student wise and Halifax if you were working.

If you use the card in the states you would pay a conversion charge of 1.75%(all providers). Best not to keep your card in credit just incase it was stolen and used.

have a boi student mastercard, not particularly fond of it. mastercard isn't accepted for a few things I'd like on the internet (specifically neteller). also received some terrible customer service with them recently, really basic stuff. gonna switch to another visa myself.

Do you have to go for a student card? I had the BOI one when I was in college but then when I left and actually started to look at the options I switched to their clear card. I believe its 9.5%.
