Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How do you find out the speed of the AMD processors on the Dell website? The Intell ones have their speed in Ghz after there name but the AMD ones just say this "AMD® Turion™ 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL50" How can I figure out if it is worth upgrading to the "TL52" if I cant tell what speed they are. Im probably missing something really basic here but could someone point it out to me:confused:

Also as im asking questions, the "L2 cache" on a processor is there a big difference in performance between a processor with 256mb cache and a 512mb cache??

You are not missing anything. Intel and AMD want to move people away from looking at CPU speed as an indicator of processor performance. That's why they have those model numbers.

As for the cache, the more the better. Having said that, I'm not so sure you would notice the difference between 256 and 512Mb in day-to-day use of computer.

Well what do you base the performance on so? What do you think of this laptop. Value for money?

Number of cores, cache, architecture, FSB and so on. :)

Too many bells and whistles - do yo need the in-built webcam? Do you need the 5 in 1 card-reader? What is it's intended use?

Well ya those bells and whistles im not really interested in, they just happened to be on the laptop that I reckoned had reasonable specs. It would be used for music, internet, excel, word the usual. No gaming really. Have u a more suitable suggestion?
