Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

DKU-5 installation problems

I'm trying to install a DKU-5 Nokia data cable.

    http://europe.nokia.com/A4164022?url=http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/software/Nokia_DKU-5_1_24.exe

That's the software driver I have, but it's prompting for a CD labeled "Nokia Corporation Installation Disc".

The file it appears to be looking for is Usbvsp.sys - I can't find this in the extracted folder and can't see it on any of the 2 Nokia CDs I have with PC Suite.

    Can anyone help out?

I'm using Windows XP and it's an official cable.

    Thanks

AFIK its a nokia end user licence agreement of some sort..

would have thought its built in with the software/driver..have you tried downloading the driver from nokia. australia or usa see if that worksWhat kind of phone are you using it with?

Just trying to install the drivers for the cable itself - not hooked a phone up yet.

I'm using the official drivers off the Nokia website as linked above.

    Thanks for your reply.

Yeah I know. I went to Nokia .ie followed the link for the driver got the same link you did..
What I would suggest is try another version of the driver available from nokia.usa or Australia... http://www.nokiausa.com/support/software/dku5/driver.
I was only wondering about the phone type to see what software you would have got with it (in the box)

Tried Chinese, US and Irish drivers now without success. :(

Has anyone got sbvsp.sys? I asked someone with a DKU-5 CD and it's not even on that.

    Hi ciaran,

When does the prompt message come up.?. After it tells you to plug in the cable? or during installation..
Is your PC fully up to date with Service pack 2 etc etc.. could be a some sort of USB driver issue..
Was the cable plugged in to the pc befor you tried installing the DKU-5 driver?

If you plug the cable in to the PC does windows go through its installing hardware etc etc.. what is the final result.?. You could try uninstalling shut down re start and install again.(thats if its installed far enough to uninstall)

Also Is it definitly a Genuine Nokia cable..?

Thanks for the advice lads but I'd only borrowed the cable off someone and had to give it back this evening :(
