DownTownSounds is proud to present the Irish debut of Radius Records mainman Spacid. Radius has come to prominence in the last few years with it's amazing re-issues of cosmic italian disco music from the early 80's. 'Italo' has risen hugely in popularity on dancefloors worldwide in the last few years, providing as it did a blueprint for the earliest Chicago house and Detroit techno. Radius has been to the forefront in releasing the very best of it, with artists like BWH, Casco and Azoto represented. Radius also releases modern music informed by the italo sound - warm synth lines, lush melodies and funky drum machine rhythms.
As a DJ, Spacid can and does play everything - from funk, disco and italo to electroboogie all the way up through house, techno and electro. Mixing fluidly on 3 turntables, he plays everywhere from the smallest basements to huge events like Ghent's notorious '10 Days Off' festival...
