something quick, simple and free would be this fella: http://www.pablosoftwaresolutions.com/html/quick__n_easy_ftp_server.html

I've used it for a couple of windows boxes without complaint for a number of years. Mind you, the requirements were pretty low and the ftp server not at all that busy.

I quite like winftp server myself. Simplicity.

Suppose cuteftp must be the most professional but is it the best?

We use filezilla, works very well in our experience and simple to set up and manage.

EDIT: We use this on Windows 2003, so same environment as yourself.
