    Hello,
We can now view RTE and TG4 live on the internet, a http://www.rte.ie/live/index.html http://www.tg4.ie/Bearla/Webt/webt.htm

Can someone tell me how I might record this live stream onto my computer and repost to youtube or something similar? What software would I need?

Can someone also explain how I might capture from tv?

    Cheers

No offense, but have you ever heard of something called Google?

I find that replying directly to a post always gets better results.

Ok I'm not really sure how to do this but this might help if you haven't seen it already:

    http://www.radioandtelly.co.uk/onyourpc.html

I googled it looking for a device and software which I saw in 'maplin' electronics last week which allowed you to watch tv on your pc, I presumed if you can watch it, then you can save it, so went looking for the name of the device and came up with the above link. Hope it is usefull.

The live rte link is handy, thanks for putting that up.

Software and hardware are the last of your worries. Unless you own exclusive copyrights to the material, you can expect it to be taken off youtube pretty quickly and have the account shut down.

If you have explicit, written permission from the copyright holders however, then you can disregard the above paragraph.

All you need is a TV card such as the hauppage PVR150 and free software such as virtualdub to convert it to a format more "palatble" format for yourtube (ie 320x280 in divx or Xvid)
