The reason the ping is so bad for so many of you I think is due to the sever in Dublin not your connection.

Try Galway or Limerick.:)

Digiweb Metro. They recently upgraded my 3Mb to 6Mb free of charge. Still same upload speed and download quota though.

The dublin server shows poor upload speed for me(as I posted a few pages back) but the limerick and galway servers shows much better results for my 2mb eircom.

I've had it with BT :mad: That's supposed to be a 2meg line in Dublin city centre.

Note: We don't use P2P or anything like that. E-mail and a bit of xbox live.

Am seriously considering going back to Eircom. Is anyone else on the Ship Street exchange? Is it the exchange or is it BT?

got ntl 3 months ago. 6mb down 512kb up. 66 yoyo's a month with tv package.

havnt even submitted the form to get upgraded yet.

I'm also living in the broadband backwater that is Charlo. I'm starting to wonder if the Adelaide Rd. exchange will ever be upgraded.

Don't be fooled by the phone number test on Smart's website btw, it claims we're serviced by the Ship St. exchange but it's incorrect. Smart can't provide broadband to our area. I know this because I tried getting it about a week ago, went through the order phase and everything, then they rang me a few days later to tell me it's a mistake on their website. Pretty annoying.

As far as I know the max we can get with any provider at present is 3mb.

Try download this from heanet to see what speed you get sometimes speed tests can be off. http://ftp.heanet.ie/disk1/TheOpenCD/07.02/OpenCD%20v07.02.iso
