    what does latency mean? mine seems very high compared to everyone elses.


    Latency = more or less ping time.
    Should be not that high, depends a little on the server that you are pinging but 50 or 60 max would be good on this server.
    482 means a human mailman might be faster.

    The upload speed on that is for a 2 Mbit package. Are you sure you're on 1 Mbit?

    Most people on eircom 1 Mbit get a test result of ~800 kpbs in the download test.
