We ordered 2mb broadband yesterday (up from 1mb) and it kicked in this morning and I'm very happy with it so far, am I right in thinking this is a good bit better than other people on the 2mb eircom package?:

They really pulled together over the last year and really offer a top notch service.

What max speeds do you get? I have the 2mb package also and i have the DU Meter tracking how much traffic is going up and down in total and the most i ever get is 240 both up and down. I thought on a 2mb line i should be getting at least 340?

I just noticed I have the same problem as you. I usually use firefox browser and am on the 2mb eircom package. With firefox I usually get around 2350kbps which I thought was pretty good compared to others on the same package. But then this morning I did another speed test and look what I got!!:
"]146156961.png
What has caused this sudden jump?? I'm getting 3mb speeds on a 2mb package, but I'm not complaining;)
However when I use internet explorer 7 browser I get much less:
"]146157867.png
I dont understand why two different browsers show different download speeds, I know firefox is supposed to be alittle bit faster than ie7 but this mornings gap difference is just ridiculous, usually on ff it would be around 2350kbps so waht caused it to jump to 3135kbps this morning?

What about something that's even slightly close to what been has been ''advertised''?

Is 575 kpbs anywhere near 3mb?

€37.99 for 100kb a sec on average?

To be fair - I don't think so.
