I have a mental block about buying radio gear off eBay... I've never bought any radio stuff off eBay but having been burned before - many years ago - with 2nd hand CB stuff, I don't think I could risk it over the net, unless I was dealing with a reputable Irish or UK dealer.

They look good at the price for what they are though. If you went to an official supplier here for that type of stuff, you'd be paying hundreds per radio.

    The Linton are not good.

    Puxing are also cheap http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/6221

FeiDaxin FDC are also cheap but seem the best quality. I bought one for someone and it was fine. http://cgi.ebay.ie/NEW-IN-BOX-FD-150A-VHF136-174MHz-Professional-Ham-Radio_W0QQitemZ120123709822QQihZ002QQcategoryZ72405QQcmdZViewItem

Note that even 446 versions of these may not be legal.

Without a CE mark and type approval they can't be used for Marine or PMR or any usage other than Licenced Wireless Experimenter on Licenced frequencies, and only after testing.

Most come in 2m or 70cm versions, if you want dual band (or More) in one radio you need Yaesu, Kenwood, Alinco or Icom. Ultimately if you are enthusiast, an Icom IC E90, Yaesu VX series or Kenwood THD xxxx series, which are mulitband TX and wideband RX scanners are better.
