You're probably right, the guy who broke it claims to have tally people working there but I'll wait a while longer before starting the official celebrations.

Meanwhile in rte land the headlines are: Rabbitte admits Ahern will win
and: Ahern heading for third term

After Andrew's transfers Gormley is 5796 and McDowell is 4614 thats 1182, I think McDowell is gone, will be confirmed in next half hour or so.

3450 FF votes to be distributed and in 1997 they went 69% to McDowell according to RTE so it is not over yet for Herr Flick
If he repeated that he would get 2380 be elected

But how many of O'Callahan's votes are transferable? 69% of what?

Hard to believe. I actually thought they might oust McDowell after the election and make her leader. Last week I really thought she might have a prominent position in the new government.

Tally reports on politics.ie seem to say its a done deal!

The bubbly is about to flow, just holding for RTE to annouce it that Muppet McDowell is gone and the PD's are finished.

The FGer has not reached the quota either so she should take some of those 3450 as well
Reduces the amount available to McDowell

Its either her or Grealish so it has to be her (providing the PDs actually continue to exist)

Kenny elected in Mayo... Ring just shy of the quota.

Reckon Beverly might be out of the running here?

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,136 ✭✭✭✭is_that_so

Richard Bruton in, and Callely, depending on transfers not going to McGrath in DNC.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,944 ✭✭✭✭Villain

Well if McDowell and Parlon go along with O'Donnell that means the PD have lost the Party Leader, the Deputy Leader and the Party President surely the party is finished?

Will Harney join FF and stay as Health Minisiter I mean what FF man wants that job?

Just watching Ruairi Quinn on RTÉ, seriously, is he drunk?

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,136 ✭✭✭✭is_that_so

Ruari Quinn suggesting that Gormley will get in, on RTE.

disappointed that waterford returned the same no hopers , outside of cullen we won't hear from the others till the next election. Delighted with the PD result, Mcdowell is a scary man to hold power and they had way too much clout considering how few people vote for them. They didn't even put anyone forward in waterford

I used to pass him every morning going to work and I don't know how many times he was mumbling to himself. Odd man but he's decent. :)

As for McDowell, I live in his constituency and I never saw him in my life. Says it all.

Disappointed in general with FF resurge, guess 41% of electorate ignoring OECD warnings. Glad to hear MMcD may be dropped!

He was on the radio this morning, talking to different candidates about how they would spend the day, he said he wanted to stay away from all the fuss and was going to go to the cinema.
