How's Mary White doing in Carlow?
Doing ok at the Minute but it is very close LostinBlanch and they are very slow to count as usual. Transfers are only starting to have an effect it all depends imo whether Browne's transfers go to White or Phelan and White may do well from the SF transfes which are being counted at the minute and then the Labour transfers, close to call and likely to drag on until tomorrow.

Mary Lou McDonald got a nice few transfers from Perry and while still ahead its hard to see her beating Brady to the last seat.

Is it gone very quite or is everyone spreading post around several threads?

Perhaps we should change the title here from Tallies to results or start a new sticky for results, any mods around?

Just heard there that Dublin North is going to a recount.

Mary White in Carlow did well from the SF transfers as I suggested she has closed the gap on Phelan, the Labour transfers are going to be interesting.

Not according to the tallies, but will have to wait for next count to be sure

Not sure if this was posted earlier or not.

The change in 1st preference votes nationally since the last election:
        2002	2007	change
    FF 41.50%	41.60%	0.10%
    FG 22.50%	27.30%	4.80%
    Lab 10.80%	10.10%	-0.70%
    PD 4.00%	2.70%	-1.30%
    GP 3.80%	4.70%	0.90%
    SF 6.50%	6.90%	0.40%
    Ind 10.90%	6.70%	-4.20%

As can be seen, FF barely held their own. FG are the gainers, but its a bounce back from the depths. Labour will be dissaopinted to have lost a little. PD's lose big time, which at such low levels is resulting in lots of lost seats for them. The Green's didnt gain as much as they hoped, and likewise Sinn Fein. Independents lose what they had the last time.

Looks like we are back in 1997 ..... time travel via politics. Which direction is this country going in again?

Dublin SC is set to elect to the 4 sitting TD's and Catherine Byrne, Louth sees the 4 sitting TD's getting re-elected and Donegal NE sees 1 FG and either 2 FF or 1 FF and 1 SF its very close.

Noel Treacy looks safe for FF as does Micahel Kitt and then 2 FG seats, so thats one IND losing out to an extra FG seat

Mary White looks set to make a gain for the Greens depending on Jim Townsend transfers, I would be putting my money on a FF and Greens Government at the minute.

Doubtful as John Paul Phelan should beat Mary White on the inter-FG transfers

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,944 ✭✭✭✭Villain

No Fergal Browne's transfers have just been anounced and White is about 700 behind Phelan but Jim Townsend has 6389 to transfer and he is a Carlow candidiate like White I would be very very surprised if White doesn't win that last seat, this is my area and I voted for White so if there is any constiruency I know its this one Skearon.
