    Donegal NW Final Tally
    McHugh FG 8447
    McDaid FF 6724
    McLaughlin SF 6630
    Blaney FF 6275
    Keavney FF 6252
    Harte IND 1290
    McGarvey IND 805

FF used to hold 3 seats here but McHugh seems certain to take one of them. McDaid is likely to get returned as he'll pick up surplusses from everywhere. That leaves Keavney, Blaney and MacLaughlin to fight for the last seat. Keavney's the incumbent, and may well lose to Blaney.

Heh, some good quotes from the ever-accurate BBC.

"The governing centrist coalition of Irish Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is leading after Thursday's general election, exit polls indicate." Doesn't look like FF/PDs tbh.

"Fine Gael is credited with 26.3% of the vote and its Labour Party alliance partner with 9.9%." Alliance partner - noice.

"The nationalist party Sinn Fein has 7.3%..." I wonder if they call them nationalist just to piss them off?

Only 3 Carlow boxes open in Carlow/Kilkenny it is always the slowest bloody count in the country, you would expect Mary White and MJ Nolan and Fergal Browne to pick up the majority of Carlow votes.

    Any numbers for Clare?

anyone with up to date figures for wexford? The only ones I can find are hopelesly outdated. I hear Liam Twomey is polling badly and FF have a very outside chance of 3 seats but most likely result is FFx2 FGx2 Labx1

44% shocking. I'm hoping Tony Mulcahy gets one of the FG seats. Guess I'll keep my fingers crossed till I hear more. Thanks alot Irish Wolf. :)

It'll be tough for him I think... FG made a mistake running 4 candidates the vote will probably be split all over the place...

    You never know though...

Aine Brady just elected in Kildare North for FF.

Looks like it will be FF2,LAB 1 and FG 1.

    Tallies from RTE-Kildare North, FF 40%, FG 21%, LAB 18%, PD 2%, GP 5%, SF 2%, IND 12%, Prediction FF 2, LAB 1

They say only 3 seats bu there are actually 4 now.

He has pulled some shock results in the past! It will be very tough for him, with 200 people accidentally taken off the register in shannon not helping as well.

Working from memory here but the lay of land in Clare is Dooley (FF) top with Killeen (FF) Pat Breen (FG) and Carey (FG) looking most likely to take the other three seats. It looks like current TD James Breen (IND) may loose his seat. Transfers from the bottom two FG and the Greens will probably come into play.

I think Mulcahy was the lowest of the FG firsts. Dooley definitely top but not elected yet.
