I know it's election business, but with all the furore yesterday, thought this maybe of interest

These early tallies need to be treated with some caution, as until all the boxes are open there may be geographical bias.

Wicklow: 12% (24 of 204 boxes) have been tallied in the five-seat constituency of Wicklow.

Fianna Fáil candidates Dick Roche and Joe Behan are ahead with 16% and 15% of the vote respectively.

With boxes from all areas opened, Fine Gael's Billy Timmins is showing well with 13%, his running mate Andrew Doyle scoring well at 9%.

Labour's Liz McManus is also in a strong position at 10%, with her running mate Nicky Kelly at 4%.

The Green candidate Deirdre de Burca currently stands at 6%.

    Looking at party share, Fianna Fáil is at 36% (2002, 31%), Fine Gael at 23% (15%), Labour 15% (29), Green 6% (5%).

Mike I know it's for the General election, but we're finished today!!

It's still going to the GE07 forum. It's not Greystones/Charlesland specific.

That early tally is probably for north wicklow. Doubtfull it includes much of the Wicklow town / Arklow ballots yet.

And if this is the case then I'd be dissapointed for De Burca.
I didnt think she'd make it but I thought she'd poll higher than 7%

Charlie Keddy not being elected will probably be the shock of the election though :p

Surprised by the tally, I'm from wicklow town and I never heard of Joe beehan!

Dissapointed with the tally for De Burca.
Paddy power had her odds on to take a seat, also predicted by some in the media.
I never seen her around. Does anyone know if she was a strong canvasser across the county?

Also what happened to the labour vote!
This was the constituancy that they were supposed to return 2 TDs
Cant say I'm not glad to see Kelly's figures as they are.

Wow just got the box by box breakdown tally for Wicklow. Of the 3080 votes cast in Charlesland Recreation centre ie Charlesland & Eden Gate. Roche got almost 1200 and Behan 933. Both FG took 840. Cawley McManus and DeBurca got hardly anything there. Can certainly say Charlesland and Eden Gate are FF territory now .FF got around 25000 in the whole of Wicklow Charlesland and Eden Gate gave them almost 10% of this .I hope they remember.
