Hello all.. I have 2002 320d with an injector problem. It seems to be weeping at idle speeds, seem OK when driving, so I guess I have to replace it?? I have available injectors from a 2000 530d are they the same?? HELP!! Any advise would be appreciated.
    Regards

How do you know there is something wrong with the injector?

Have you experience of working on the 320d fuel system?

check realoem.com - you can put in your chassis no. to find out the part no. of the injector, then get a part no. of one from a 5 series - see if they match up.

what do you mean by "weeping" anyway?

...Weeping is a step below leaking and I have a bit of experience with injectors from a different time! The part numbers are different for the e46 and e39 injectors but I thought it might be worth a try before shelling out €300++. Also, do I need to inform the ecu if I replace with a new/correct injector. Thanks for the help

how do you know they're weeping - is there diesel coming out at the top of the head or did you perform a pressure test on the system. (if yes to latter, it could be non-return valve in fuel pump)

The common rail ones are very different beast! You generally do need to code them with the ECU, and it is also recommended that you replace the pipes if you replace an injector.
