I wouldn't bother with a second hand cat. It'll probably give you trouble in a short space of time. Try to get a spurious cat somewhere. Somewhere like Otto may be able to supply one a for a lot less than main dealer prices

Man, thats a balls, new cat would set you back around 800 yo yo's.

Just take it off and shake out the excess ceramics.

I wouldnt bother replacing it till NCT time.

    Traynors up north are good
    Big Seans in Ovens aswell

The "remanufactured" and "spurious" stuff is a bit hokey for my liking.

Heres a search for car dismantlers in Ireland. I have found that alot of them keep an inventory list of parts on file, so you should be able to find out over the phone if they have that model of car & part.

This one in Kilcock, is quite extensive:

and Traynors up north, who send a van down to stop off points in Navan & Dublin 2 times a week I think, so it saves you the journey up North if living in the Dublin region.

My cat died over a year ago. The longer I left it, the more restrictive the exhaust got as it continued to break up, meaning that the car eventually felt like it had half the power. I went an got a new one at 980 euro from the main dealer. Not cheap.

The other option, as crosstownk says, is to ring Otto in Tallaght & Finglas and GSF(German, Swedish & French) near the Nangor road. If they can get the part, it should be at a good price. I have found them very reasonable.
