I work form home and I claim a portion of my ESB, GAS, most of the phone and all of the broadband. However I don’t claim a portion of the interest on the mortgage on my place as a business expense as it ‘may’ have CGT implications – but claim everything else – so long as they are legit.

Eg – if you were a programmer working from home, then a certain proportion of the ESB would be a legit business expense.
