    Thoughts of a Dying Atheist-Muse...?

But probably something like Sailing by Rod Stewart.
Or Live Forever, or Let it Be...good thing I won't be here to decide.

What a Wonderful Man - My Morning Jacket

Would nicely sum up the feelings of the congregation I reckon...

"The Great Gig in the Sky" from Dark Side of the Moon gets my vote.

    +1

Same as what galwayrush said, get the 2112 overture just to make people sit there:D.

Living is a Problem cos Everything Dies(Biffy Clyro) is suitable. Citizen Erased by Muse. Or just have the intro to REgular John by QOTSA on repeat. Or the really screech section to I Think I Lost My Headache:D. Or the Earphoria version of Silver**** by the Pumpkins. That'd be my main one.

Asleep - The Smiths,if i died of natural causes, purely to freak everyone out.

Seriously though i've told all my friends and family that i want:

If we never meet again this side of Heaven - Johnny Cash
No Retreat,No Surrender - Bruce Springsteen (from the live 75-85 collection)

    Stairway to Heaven

    Great Gig in the sky

    Highway to Hell

In that order. Not a huge fan of any of them but I think people would get a laugh out of it

Stairway to heaven is a good one.

I would want Hallelujah, the Jeff Buckley version,
    Haiti by Arcade Fire
    Angeles by Elliott Smith

and of course amhran na bhfinn

A play list would be nice, nothing major, just a few hundred songs...

Or I like the idea of a band playing you out, brings images of Slash standing on your coffin playing the November Rain solo as they lower you into the ground...

Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum.

I've been told I can't have it but if I put in my will it has to be done, doesn't it??

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,221 ✭✭✭RichyX

Sleep Now in the Fire - Rage Against the Machine.

Planning on getting cremated oddly enough.

white man in hammersmith palais - the clash
Classic song. Girlfriend in a coma by the smiths sounds like a real funeral song but i struggle to find a scenario in which it would work.

No More Shall We Part - Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds

    Ooooh spicy lauren..
mine would have to be The Mercy Seat by Nick Cave.

Instructed my best mate about six months ago to have Island in the Sun by Weezer played, should the unforeseen occur.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,231 ✭✭✭Fad

personally id pick something ludicrously heavy, bring me the horizon/cannibal corpse, just to piss people off because of the ''white noise'' that i somehow loved.
i second highway to hell, and third 2112 overture

I've actually changed my mind to Motion Picture Soundtrack by Radiohead. I think there's an organ in there somewhere n all.
