I've done a repair job on that cable before, but never on a Toshiba, so I'm just wondering is it a simple job, or is it a manufacturer-only job?

I'm pretty handy hardware wise, repaired similar faults before so the technicalities shouldn't be a problem. Another thing though - if it is relatively straightforward, is that part even available? Just trying to get an idea before I have the thing apart only to realise it's impossible...
