Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Afternoon

I have a blackberry 7130V and it is pretty worn at this stage. the new style balckberries are doing it for me (esp with the replacement of click wheel with a joystick and also lack of wifi etc)

I am on vodafone and am tempted by getting a sim free htc phone ? can I use this is a blackberry?

    Short Answer : No.

If it's not a RIM device then you need Blackberry Connect software - this is available for some Nokia (eg E50, E61) and Siemens models but not yet for Windows Mobile devices.

I think it is available for some windows mobile devices.... just not any of the nice ones they are selling here at the moment.

Blackberry Connect is AT LEAST on the XDA Mini and the XDA Exec (I assume this means the other brandings of these versions will take it too.. but please correct me if I'm wrong!)

Stick with a Blackberry over a smartphone if you want it mainly for email though .. the Pearl is much more responsive than any smartphone in my opinion.

Pah.. aren't they "old" tech now ;) ?

Anyway I don't think Connect cuts the mustard - it wasn't great on the SK65 and it's not good on the E50 (though it did have the nice advantage of being able to shut off email delivery during certain hours). So far it seems that if it's not a RIM device then you won't get the full RIM experience.
