Sing classes for beginner

Hi all, I haven't a note in my head and have never done anything remotely muscical in my life. Is there anywhere to go with a view to trying to pick up a few songs for parties etc. Its something I would like to try but without my friends or family knowledge!

saw adverts for singing lessons there.
