Hi, I'm half thinking of going and cycling through Europe for a few months. Has anyone ever done this? I'm 24, moderately fit when it comes to cycling. I'd be most likely going alone. For full-on touring I'd recommend a proper touring bike - long wheelbase, dropped bars, stable when fully loaded. Something like:

Fitness is important but you should also be competent in looking after your bike and equipment.
