    what are the general course requirements for a mature student (30),
    wishing to do evening courses . (no leaving cert) ,....wishing to do a degree course ? in business or marketing or similar.

    Depends on the college.
    Once you are over 23 by 1st Jan on the year on entry,you are a mature student.
    They will base your application on work experience,and any qualifications that you have earned in the mean time.
    For the areas you mention once you have work experience that is relevent in some way I can't see how you would have too much difficulty.
