Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey all,

    If I want to install Vista on my pc which currently runs on XP should I uninstall XP first or do I just install over it?

    Also, will I loose all my files and progs etc?

    Thanks

    Your options;

    1) Install Vista over XP & you get dual boot you wont lose your data but it wont migrate the applications, require a separate hard drive or partition for Vista.

    2) Clean install Vista this is where you would wipe the HD of any existing operating system you would lose all your data unless it is backed up.

    3) Use Vista upgrade version to upgrade XP to Vista it will migrate your existing files and applications to Vista.

    1 & 2 can be done with the regular versions of Vista, no.3 requires the upgrade edition.

    Depending on what version you have I'll assume it's the normal Vista then the best thing to do is to back up your data and do a clean install.
