Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    3-3 at fulltime

3-0 sweden in reality, ref attacked during the game so uefa giving sweden a 3-0 win
With a minute of the 90 still to play the match has been abandoned and the result will now be confirmed following an investigation by the UEFA Disciplinary Committee upon receipt of the referee and delegate reports.
    - The final whistle is blown.
    89 Poulsen (Denmark) is dismissed.

A peno to Sweden in 90th minute following Poulsens foul and a fan hit the ref with something, the peno would have won the game if scored so match abandoned.

madness is still strong in football :D

Ref is a knob tbh, a game should only be stopped in circumstances where something, be it sustained violent play by one or both sides or crowd violence, makes it impossible to play. One tit running onto the pitch with less than a minute normal time to go? Yid swear the ref must have had money on the result to pull one like that. Disgraceful.

Probably isnt allowed, but the fairest solution would be a behind closed doors penalty shot and play the additional minutes. Where did they pull this 3-0 rule from?

The guy must feel like some idiot now. After all, it looks as if Sweden will move up 3 points by default when its possible their peno could have been saved. If I were a fan of any other team in the group Id be outraged at this unfair advantage (imagine if the Czechs moved up 3 points in a default bullsh1t win like this, it could force us out of the running)

A 3-0 win is always awarded to a team being given the match. ie Scotland a few years back when Estonia (?) didnt turn up.

lol abondoned for that? How does he justify it? "Oh his hand grazed against my face, we must abandon the match even though there's only a minute left." Knob.

It wasn't just the one supporter, after he tried to hit the referee, two more ran in. The worst part was that the supporters were running around freely while not a single guard tried to stop them. Referee called off the match because he said security could not be guaranteed, and up-to that point I completely agree, it was obvious the guards had no interest in stopping the supporters.

The decision isn't final, initially they said Sweden won the game 3 - 0, but later statement was that a final decision will be made after reviewing all the facts.

Anyways, chances are high Sweden would have won, and calling it off was probably not a bad decision seeing how guards weren't stopping anyone from coming in. The guy after the one who tried to punch the ref actually ran with the ball from one side to the other and shot it in goal without a single guard in sight during the whole time...

A nice little twist is that the supporter that attacked the ref is a danish citizen living in Sweden.

I hope you're not suggesting that a high-scoring draw between Denmark and Sweden could ever have shenanigans involved in it? :)

I hope that supporter got the beating he deserved.

Lol, that fan should be given a prize :D

There was no guarantee that Sweden would have scored the penalty, thus Denmark may have gotten a draw. But now, Sweden will get the win because this lad the "brainwave" of attacking the ref.

You know what would really set an example, if the ref charges for assault and the supporter goes to jail for 6 months, see how often it happens then.

Sets a good example tho for invasions, a certain teams fans invaded te pitch a few years ago in the 85th minute to try stop the game as it would have relegated them. The rules were if match abandoned the game is replayed.

Now its not as above shows invade the pitch and the game is awarded to the other team, but then again if i wore a german jersey and did it in Croker ........

That didnt look that bad at all, the ref was barely touched and was clearly unhurt when blowing the final whistle.

Can't believe he called it off...disgracefull.

Not true. That game was eventually played in Monaco.

There is no guarantee that Sweden will be awarded the game. It'll be interesting to see what UEFA decide.

No big deal there. Plenty of Danes live in southern Sweden and still work in Denmark. It's only 30 minutes from Malmo to Copenhagen by train.

No big deal that Sweden were handed the win, but the punishment handed out by UEFA to the Danes is a disgrace.

Far too harsh for the misbehaviour of one fan. It seems like UEFA have ignored the excellent behaviour of Danish fans over the last twenty years or so.

I hope the FAI come out with a statement of support for their Danish counterparts as it could only take one gob****e to do the same thing at an Ireland game and we'd be in the same boat.

Disgraceful decision. The ruling regarding home matches is even worse, if I were head of the Danish FA Id boycott the rest of the qualifiers (well, if we had no chance of qualifying anyway :) ). Wouldnt fancy being any other team in this group, its very unfair to everyone bar Sweden.
