XBOX1 and HD?

Don't suppose there's a cable to allow me to connect my old XBOX1 and my HD TV? I see cables on eBay but I presume they are only for the 360....

If there is no HD cables for the XBOX1 whats the best cable I can get because I want to use it for watching DVD's...thanks

Xbox 1 had a component cable so thats it for the best cable you can get.

yea that will do you but dont expect any great improvment unless your using xbmc, it will clear the image up a bit on games but only a little bit.

I have a Monster component cable for the xbox which I'm selling at the moment. Its the best of the component cables for the xbox.

Yup getting XBMC is the plan. I want to get the best quality picture.....I'm not sure the actual cables come with that eBay item though.

Its a great purchase. XBMC can do 1080i with the cable and games look a lot nicer. There are a few HD games as well you can use. Not bad for a last generation console.

It's probably great but €30 is too expensive for me...sorry for sounding like a bum but €20 would be my maximum for a cable. Not trying to screw you mate honestly....if your not interested thanks for your help and good luck with the sale.....:)

If you are looking for a cheap one there are a few cheapy non branded OEM cables on ebay that go for about e8 each. The next step up is the xbox branded ones but they are very rare and go for quite a bit.

I have 2 cheapy ones and results where great dont see the point in the branded ones its only a cable anyone can make it and get the same results.

I may come back to you about the cable...its just that I dont have the XBOX modded yet and I'm still running around buying the Action Replay and exploitable games etc. Bit short of cash.

Also I don't want to buy your cable and then find out I can't work out how to mod it although it should be straightforward.

You can upscale movies and they look prety decent. I have played some 720 HD vids on my box buts its only as a demonstrator. Its just slightly beyond the capabilities of the box and you get stuttering when there is lots of action .

dont bother wasting your time with action replay and exploit games check out xbox-scene.com theres loads of tutorials for different ways to soft mod the xbox and one of the easiest dosnt require you to spend a penny.

Agrees, the cheapy ones are grand for the price.

I see the Monster XBOX Component cable is available from US sellers on eBay.com for around €20....would there be any problems using a US cable with a European/PAL XBOX? Personally I doubt it but just want to be sure first....thanks

No theres no problem with the monster xbox cable from america i bought 1 about 3 weeks ago and its works perfect.

Well it won't give you HD. You need to set the box to ntsc for HD and to do that on euro boxes you need to mod.

Now I'm even more lost.....are you saying that because its a US cable that the XBOX must to set to NTSC or must the XBOX be set to NTSC for HD even if its a Euro cable?

That one. For some reason hi-def support wasnt included in the menus on pal boxes. No idea why they didnt change it later on.

Theres a program called enigmah video switch disc or something similar which runs on modded xboxs allowing you switch to ntsc.

OK I see. Not much point in getting a component cable then but I am hoping to softmod.

By the way I found one here on eBay.com

But it only has 3 "ends" whereas most I've seen have 5. Is it still a component? Doubt it but they list it as such.....
