I've just discovered Mecca Bingo's latest ad. It's fucking sad. The only sort of person who plays online bingo is a stay-at-home mum who thinks Loose Women is the height of comedy.

Yeah, there's a demographic which doesn't fit into the Ladbrokes Life, so let's target online "fun" bingo to them!

Is there any depths these bloodsuckers won't plumb?

I don't like those aldi ads because they have completely over egged the thing that is "so irish"

Alot of Irish girls do have a problem accepting compliments but they don't go on like that complete mentaller.

Then the "bye bye" one. Something I am guilty of myself I admit :) But they've gone way over board to the point that the woman is saying "baw-baw-baw-baw-baw-baweeee" i.e. not even bye.

The length of time the girl and the woman go on. It's really not funny.

Actually saw it yesterday and completely agree.
It’s like some "creative" heard about this Irish trait (there was a thread about the bye one on AH recently for example) and thought I'm a fcuking genius. And just beat all the funny out of it.

I'm sure it's been said a hundred times but the coffee ad with George clooney, tis fairly cringe. Fair enough sandals can be odd but the look of the other guy when he sees George wearing them.

    Would you like meal!?

Actually Clooney's acting in that is terrible.

Just to say some of these rants are giving me a good laugh. Great thread.

Irish Water- "Safeguarding your water for your future"

Who the fcuk came up with that dross, as if we're not already annoyed enough with the €80m of our money that they wasted on consultants.

    AIB aren't just backing Brave.

    Now, they're backing 'Doing'.

The first time I saw that ad on a bus shelter, I wondered who or what "Doing" was, because when I said it in my head, it rhymed with "boing", sort of like the sound of a spring! Doing, doing, doing... :D

Stupid ads... reminds me of the great tweet from Ross O'Carroll-Kelly: "AIB are backing brave, presumably because backing reckless didn't work out for them" :pac:

I'm sure they changed "brave" to "doing" because everyone took the p155 out of the campaign: "ooh, you're so BWAVE!!!"

Oh I know they have been mentioned, including by me, but my foot hovers at the tv when the Aldi ads come on. I don't know which of them is the worst, possibly the bababababababababababababababababababababababa one.

Game of War is a 2013 game.

So how to revamp it ?

Late last year they spent spending 40 million on the ad campaign staring Kate Upton. Her character isn't even in the game.

It's one of those "free" games with in app purchases. They're making a million a day on consistent churn of new customers.

Stannis Baratheons actor is in it too. Not sure if he's been there the whole time, the shot is suspiciously narrow and last only a couple of seconds.

    FFS.

So she is advertising her agency (I googled her) in an advert?? She's using an advert to market herself?

Go and F**k off away way in the distance.

What's the most stupid ad you ever seen on TV that really annoys you?
And makes you never want to use that company, service or product?

    ..

I think really stupid ads that annoy you will make more people avoid
a service than use it, I think many companies misunderstand the whole
point in making a funny/stupid ad and people avoid their service as a result.

Like did you ever see a TV ad and think, what a bunch of idiots I will
never use that product, or when you see a product, you think of the ad,
Which the company intended, but really you walk away and buy something
else because the ad on TV was so dumb you just won't allow yourself to
go near the product because of their ridiculous ads.

A lot of companies have strangers representing their services on TV,
stating "we" do this "we offer that" when they don't even work for
the company other than hosting an ad for the company on TV.
So in other words, they are lying and they don't have anything to do
with the company they're representing, omg.

And companies that seem to think if they use an animated character
instead of a real person, is gonna gain people's trust in their product.

BTW we should be able to edit the title of our threads.. easy enough to set on this platform.

Believe it or not, you can edit the thread title with the Edit button. :)

It's going back a bit but those "Big Ed loves Mona" drove me around the bend. I vowed to never buy their products and I never did. Those no nonsense insurance ads are having a similar impact currently.

I have to admit when I heard about coca cola and the amount of money those war countries are making off the product.
Remember seeing an old guy on sky news pouring all his stock down the shore outside his shop, that made me think.
It did make me never want to buy cola again, lasted a few months, I gave in to my thirst when I saw an old style glass bottle of cola..

Harvey Norman - I do not respond well to being shouted at.
Pat Shortt attempting to sing some 11888 rubbish.

I want the Yorkie bar man back, ads for Hamlet cigars and cosy reassurance that a bottle of vodka a day is good for you.

Fox's Vinnie the Panda. He looks like he's mange-ridden, crawling with disease. The thought of him going near Fox biscuits makes me want to burn them in case his germs infect me and cause limbs to fall off.

LOL crawling with disease! and a gangster ny accent..
That radio disc jockey horse? the horse does all their voices and they're all actors... crap.
I never listen to Irish FM radio any more and I'll never go down past discovery, unless I'm watching euro/sky news.
Called into a friend the other night, they had rte on I felt irritated just watching it, left after 5 mins.

I really think alcohol ads should be banned off TV just like cigarette ads were.
It's not that I don't like a drink now an then, but I know the damage it has caused all over the country.
