See the list of LFC sites on the right hand side for other decent sites.

I'm aware of these lads running a campaign, how sad is that? Dunc might not be an angel, but this shiite is bordering on the oppsessive. I enjoyed my time time on KT immensly, but not enough to pay for the privildge! Plus as i got older, had kids etc., I posted less and less.

Good list of sites there, thanks, but I was wondering which are the best of these for a more mature outlook (bit like this thread expanded I suppose :D )

I will admit that they do sometimes cross the line as to what I would say is acceptable abuse to dish out to someone. And while the forum on Koptalk may have been enjoyable, it was made enjoyable by the people who joined rather than the toe-rag that ran it. If he's as much of a liar, a conman, and a thief as is claimed, then he pretty much deserves what he gets. The central tenet of the site was that he had connections to high ranking people within the club. Thats been shown to be a lie.

ynwa.tv is a great forum in my view. Reasoned and mature debate with a lot less knee jerkers than Koptalk. Some well informed posters on it without all of the "my sources have told me" kind of crap that used to be on Koptalk. TLW isn't bad either.

    Oh oh.

The following was reported by Portugal’s Record. It seems that trouble has a habit of following Liverpool around.

Liverpool’s last night in the Algarve, where they trained this last week, was quite troubled. Several players were involved in shameful events that only ended when the authorities intervened around 4am on Friday.

Acording to witnesses the players used the fact that Benitez had gone to Vilamoura to have fun. But some of the 15 strong group that went to Monty’s bar in Vale do Lobo got out of control.

Beers were drunk all night and some players lost count of how much they had. To avoid trouble the British were “invited” to leave the bar, but this didn’t mean the end of the matter, despite the efforts by captain Gerrard and Peter Crouch.

When they arrived back at the Barringtons apartment complex, the drunkest players (Dudek, Fowler and Pennant amongst them) damaged cars, electricity boxes and even the inside of some houses, by using golf clubs!

The situation only calmed down when police arrived, during which time they had to cuff Dudek who had tried to headbutt an officer. While this was going on witnesses stared in disbelief.

Christ the lads have some timing! Hopefully just mountains out of molehills - hopefully! really not the time to lose focus.

On Veronin, meh, he looked alright for Ukraine, i'd have no interest in him joining to be honest, from what i've seen of him. I know its next to impossible, but if we have this new influx of cash, would absolute love to see a move for Eto'o!! Im sure the discontent stuff at Barca is mostly bollox, but he's the type of player that would truly put liverpool onto the next level.

Any one else remember when he issued liverpool a come and get me plea? The year cisse was meant to come, but then ended up being held for another year at Auxere with an agreement in place for him to sign the following summer, eto'o said take me now instead. At the time i was praying they would, but alas, our loss!

<EDIT> Just found one reference to it; http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=152226&plid=8438&clid=&cpid=23
AT least two Premiership clubs have joined the chase for Cameroon hot-shot Samuel Eto'o, with the Mallorcan forward admitting he favours a £5 million move to Liverpool.

The talented African star has told the Islanders he intends to leave Estadio Son Moix this summer and the 14 goal-striker says Anfield is his preferred destination, where he believes he can form a dream partnership with England striker Michael Owen.

"I'm convinced Michael Owen and I would form a partnership which would leave defenders with their tongues hanging out.

"I would drive the fans crazy with my goals and passes," boasted Eto'o.

    Sigh...

    Liverpool stars in booze shame
By DANIEL KING - More by this author » Last updated at 21:15pm on 17th February 2007

Liverpool stars are alleged to have gone on an alcohol-fuelled rampage during a training camp last week in Portugal.

Goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek, Jermaine Pennant and former England striker Robbie Fowler were named by local newspapers as being involved in a drunken spree at the Barringtons Golf and Health Club, in Vale do Lobo, on the Algarve, in the early hours of Friday morning.

Dudek, a hero of Liverpool’s Champions League triumph in Istanbul two years ago,was reported to have been handcuffed after the incident, which is alleged to have occurred at the end of a warm-weather training camp undertaken to prepare for Liverpool’s Champions League game in Barcelona on Wednesday.

A Liverpool spokesman said last night: "The matter will be dealt with internally."

The future of all three players will be in doubt if the allegations are shown to be true. But Pennant, whose troubled past includes a spell in prison for drunken driving, has the most to lose, with veterans Dudek and Fowler already likely to be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez was in nearby Vilamoura at the time of the alleged trouble. He will be disappointed with the claims against Pennant after he gave the player a chance to resurrect his top-flight career by signing him for £6million from Birmingham last summer.

The allegations will also make waves across the Atlantic, where the club’s new American owners, George Gillett Jnr and Thomas Hicks, are unlikely to be impressed at the tarnishing of Liverpool’s reputation on the eve of the next formal stage of their £450m takeover.

Local sources claim the trouble began at a bar called Monty’s, in Vale do Lobo, where about 15 members of the squad had gone for a drink after a team meal on the eve of their departure from Portugal.

After several rounds of beer, the party reportedly became rowdy and, despite the efforts of captain Steven Gerrard and England international Peter Crouch to defuse the situation, police were called.

Officers escorted the party back to Barringtons but trouble is said to have flared again. No one was arrested or charged but Dudek is alleged to have been restrained by police. It is understood that Barringtons reported only a broken glass and Liverpool are said to have agreed to pay for any damage.

The incident recalls the scandal of another sunshine trip by an English club, when a drunken night involving Leicester players in La Manga in 2004 ended in three of them being charged with sexual assault, a case which subsequently collapsed.

Although not as serious, the allegations against Liverpool could not have come at a more crucial time for the club.

Shareholders will receive a formal offer document in the morning from Kop Football Ltd, the Hicks/Gillett company bidding for the club.

Kop will then have a minimum of 21 days to agree a deal with the owners of 75 per cent of the shares, at which point they would be irreversibly committed to buying the club.

i don't think so. they got a bit rowdy and the police were called, now it has blown up in the papers. doesn't seem like any member of the public was involved or there was much to it. unless more comes out would say it will blow over..

I suspect this is a big nothing. I've been googling the Liverpool media and can't find any 'late breaking news'/comment. A dodgy report of whats proberly a minor matter picked up by a local stringer for the UK press or some hack reading messageboards and hey presto - an international incident.

    Blessing in disguise?

I love the way they show a pic of Riise bleeding.:)

TRADED INSULTS during a bar's karaoke contest when Riise refused to take the stage,
SCREAMED ABUSE as they faced each other toe to toe,
TOTTERED back to their training camp base at 2am,
FOUGHT in a hotel as Bellamy lashed out at Riise's £5 million legs with a golf club, until the pair were
SEPARATED by head coach Rafael Benitez.

Good old paper trick of higlighting the key spark words.

does tottered not mean they just wandered off back, hardly a flash point. I thought the story was that it all kicked off because Rafa was off elsewhere, how did he break it up so?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,482 ✭✭✭RE*AC*TOR

I guess it easy enough to assume the worst of Bellamy due to his past behaviour.

Even by his stadards though, this is unbelievable.

We'll wait and see how this pans out. My prediction, denial from Rafa and Club, Bellamy quietly out the door in the summer.

Umm Norway manager said:"I got to talk to John Arne and things in general are not good, but in any case things are okay with John Arne,"

    From: http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=449039&CPID=8&clid=14&lid=3&title=Hareide:+Riise+okay&channel=&

Bellamy will never learn, he's a great player but he has issues.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Rafa has been talking about disipline being "in-house" so something did happen though I suspect not involving 9 irons and Riises legs somehow.
"I met this morning with the entire first team squad and made it absolutely clear to all of them the responsibilities that come with playing for this club and the way they are expected to conduct themselves both on and off the pitch.

"The players worked extremely hard at last week's training camp, but we will take disciplinary action and fine any of them who are found to have breached club rules during our stay in Portugal. I've told the players this and they understand and accept the decision I have taken.

"Despite reports to the contrary, the spirit amongst the lads is very good with everyone looking forward to the game against Barcelona on Wednesday.

"We remain totally focussed on what will be a very tough game against the defending European Champions."

Barca got done by Valencia tonight 2-1 so thier preparations are going smoothly as well.

    Mike.

The stuff thats more likely are the ones that were reported by various witness's at the bar. Stuff like shouting matches with the locals who were goading a few of the lads for the night, and riise and bellamy having a shout at each other over riise not wantin to do the karaoke. The minor damage around the hotel too (which to be fair has a way of happening on random drunken nights regardless of if its purposeful or not) is probably likely.

I just cant see the bellamy breaking into riise's room and hacking at him thing being true. If you look at it logically, since they were room sharing, the players would have been the ones to respond to something like that (no way they'd have spoken about it to NOTW) and you can be damn sure it wouldnt have been explained in full to the bellboy's or anything. The only people who might have reported it would be the hotel staff, who might have gotten snippets of what happened (say that maybe bellamy and riise's shouting had continued at the hotel or something, or that bellamy was holding a club - really couldnt see it being true that he hacked him with it) which the NOTW were only too happy to run with.

Thankfully Barca had a dip in form and eto'o will be ridiculously short of match practice for the first leg at least. Unfortunately Ronaldinho seems to be back on top form again.Saw their last game and he was unbelievable, didnt see tonight but he did get the consolation goal.

Lets start an Eto'o to Pool rumour, hopefully if mentioned enough it might happen! Would be the type of player to really push onto the next level. As opposed to Andriy Voronin...

Bellamy faces €120,000 fine after training camp bust-up

    09:20 Monday February 19th 2007

Liverpool forward Craig Bellamy's reportedly facing an €120,000 fine following allegations of a training-camp bust-up.

Reds boss Rafael Benitez said he would punish any players who breached club rules during the trip to Portugal.

Bellamy is at the centre of reports claiming a drinking session ended with the Welshman attacking defender Jon Arne Riise.
