Roland Scholten won this weekend tournament in Holland for his first win in 3 years. Mick McGowan lost 2-3 in the third round to Andy Hamilton.

The really interesting thing about this tournament was that a Russian woman won through the qualifiers to play in the tournament. I have never heard of a woman playing in a PDC event before. Her name was Anastasia Dobromyslova and she lost 0-3 to Andy Hamilton in the second round.

Scholten Tastes Thialf Darts Trophy Glory

ROLAND SCHOLTEN picked up his first tournament win for three years with a 3-1 defeat of Chris Mason in the final of the Thialf Darts Trophy.

Scholten, the 2004 UK Open champion, warmed up in style for next week's visit to Bolton by tasting victory on home soil.

The Dutchman won seven matches to take the title, with Mervyn King and Barrie Bates both taking him to a deciding set.

Leroy Kwadijk, a 23-year-old from Zaandam making his first appearance on the Pro Tour, won through to the semi-finals - defeating Dave Ladley, Denis Ovens, Leo Mooibroek, Ray Farrell and James Wade along the way - before going down in straight sets to Scholten.

Scholten found himself a set down in the final, after Mason came from behind to win the opening set, but the Dutchman won the next two in the same manner before winning the fourth 2-0 for the title.

Mason set himself up well for the UK Open finals with wins over top 12 players John Part, Adrian Lewis and Peter Manley in his run to the final.

Andy Hamilton ended the hopes of female Russian qualifier Anastasia Dobromyslova in round two, having edged out Michael van Gerwen in the final leg of their opening contest.

World number three Colin Lloyd reached the last 16 before losing a deciding set to Jelle Klaasen, with seeded players Hamilton, Manley, Bates, Dennis Priestley and Ronnie Baxter also exiting at that stage.

Dutch woman Carla Molema, who joined Dobromyslova in coming through Friday's qualifiers to win one of the final 16 places in the event, defeated Hermie van Orsouw in round one before losing 3-2 to John Lokken.

Welshman Wayne Atwood won Saturday's non-ranked Thialf Open with a 3-2 defeat of Gary Welding.

Vincent van der Voort and Colin Osborne reached the semi-finals, with Erwin Extercatte, Andy Smith, Denis Ovens and Ronnie Baxter reaching the last eight.
