Babe run away!

I'm trying every avenue here to find a beloved dog!
    Here's the story:

Sunday night, Babe, the dog of a friend, run away from the car at the N8 near Rathcormack south of Fermoy.

She is scared of driving in the car, scared of cars in any form. My friend let the car door open when he got out and she, the dog, just run, got spooked when other cars were speeding by and vanished in panick.

My friend looked everywhere, asked in houses around (it was night, 10.30 p.m.) left posters everywhere, in pubs, with the guards, couldn't call any pound or shelter because of the bank holiday so far and he is in bits and worried sick.

The dog is a cross of god knows. She is about the height of a beagle, with a long body, spayed, black curly coat and a very cute yorkshire terrier face and a red collar. Very sociable and spoilt, with a mind of her own though. About three years old and very playful.

I suppose she will look for a home pretty soon, because she needs food and company and attention. But because she is such a sweet and charming dog someone might want to keep her.

Please, if anyone in that area comes across a dog of this description, send me a pm. This friend of mine lives in East Cork. He would be eternally grateful to get his Babe back.

    Thanks for understanding.

Get a photo up on http://www.lostandfound.ie/ along with contact details
and also the ISPCA website http://ispca.ie/content/lost.html - you'll find the cotact details for rescues in the area posted here http://www.irishanimals.ie/dogs/20.html (just in case you need it)

http://petsireland.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=573 is a good guide to what to do when a pet goes missing and there is a large lost & found here http://petsireland.invisionzone.com/index.php?showforum=43

apologies if you've done got all these already - just wanted to post them in case you didn't know about them all - the very best of luck in finding Babe

    Thanks tabitharose,

no need to apologize. We appreciate any help.
We went all the roads you mentioned so far. But since it is a bank holiday, no luck of course. And it is early days.

Lost a cat once and made a fool of myself in the village here in the West to make such a "fuss" about a cat. I didn't care, the cat was more important than the sniggers of the locals. The cat came back eventually, btw. Cats do usually. But still....

My friend, the owner of the dog, is not into computers, so it's me who is spreading the news all over Internet-Ireland, or the Cork or doggie area at least.

    thanks again.

    Yessss!
    A very happy ending!
irishanimals.ie send me the same ad this morning, they made the connection with my ad in lost dogs (I love them! Thanks Denise!), I informed my friend, he went to fetch his Babe, and they are happily back home together and probably right now in the local pub to celebrate (the dog loves pubs, wonder why ...:D )

    I love happy endings .... :)
