Detecting Drains

Have been told by someone that there is sort sort of sensor / detector available that allows you to find where drains are on a property. I was hoping somebody could shed some light on this for me. I have tried a google search but have had no luck. Any info would be appreciated..

The CAT on it's own will not detect drains. You could use them with a Sonde which you push down the drain with a cobra reel and it generates a signal that the CAT can detect. They are available to hire from survey equipment suppliers or most large hire shops. Shouldn't cost more than €50 for the day.

Alternatively you could do it the old fashioned way with a spade and a repair collar
