Amazon have already shipped my order, much better. :)

I rang them up today, was on hold for 18 minues, the girl took my order number and wasnt sure when it would be dispatched, she said maybe next week, that they are trying to clear a backlog of orders and "problems with supliers"

I couldnt fault them over the years cd wow but in the past few months have gone off them considerably, would shop elsewhere even it cost a couple of extra quid just to ensure i get what i want in a reasonable time

ive had 5 emails from them now about my game that was sent to me 4 weeks ago with no sign of it!

they have asked me twice to confirm my address (2 different support people).

they barely reply to emails, they only do when i mention small court claim.

i will NOT be using them again after this.

Just been reading all the replies to this thread and I agree that they used to have an excellent service. I remember I ordered a CD and 2 days later it arrived - from Hong Kong?!

Anyway in the past year or so they have been a disaster. What is the point of "pre-ordering" if the item isn't going to be in stock on the release date?! They really need to change the phrase "release date/dispatch date from their site on the pre-order items. I ordered 3 pre-order CDs and they won't dispatch until the 16th July.

Guys the customer services Director's name is Tammy Stewart and her email address is tammy@cd-wow.com if you have any problems.

Even their responses to peoples queries are getting slower - I remember when they used to respond on the day sometimes late at night over the weekends (Sat/Sun) even!

I've emailed Tammy in CDWOW! and have told her about the diabolical service of late. Maybe if more people email her something will be done.

Also, on their Irish website you can't view your outstanding orders you have to log into www.cdwow.com which will allow you to view your orders.

Yep, took me 9 days just to arrange replacements. I contacted them about missing DVDs through the website. 3 days later I get a reply asking to confirm my address (always the same thing with them). I replied straight away. 3 days after that I get a reply saying that it must be gone missing in the post and that they'd arrange replacements immediately. 3 days after that I get a mail that they have now placed the order for the replacements. That was nearly two weeks ago and they still haven't dispatched.
Also, on their Irish website you can't view your outstanding orders you have to log into www.cdwow.com which will allow you to view your orders.
The order status on the .ie website hasn't worked for me for about a year. The .com one seems a bit flakey too sometimes.

I also see that they're new payment processor sends your credit card details over an un-secured connection! I won't be using CDWow again any time soon.

same problem after ordering cd on the 11th June, then another on the 26th after being told that cd would be ok, still waiting for either. This has been problem with my last 4 of 5 cd orders.

Have sent 3 mails to their customer service and next one on monday will be for a refund and i'll be off the bangCD.com for my future orders. The stg£2 vouchers are all that have kept me their lately.

When I first started using cd-wow 5-6 years ago it took 3 days from order to delivery.

If your worried about bangCD I know people who have ordered from them and they are ok.......also...

What really pisses my off about CDWOW is that they have the audacity to keep selling products on the site that they have no stock off without notifying that the product is not in stock unlike play.com who state if the product is in stock or not.

I ordered the new QOTSA album from CDWOW on May 22 when the release and dispatch date was June 18. I get an email on June 26 about the order informing me ''blah blah blah out of stock blah blah blah will be now dispatched on June 29''. I gave them a week after the supposed new dispatch date to inform me on the order's status and nothing came so on July 5 I told them to go f**k themselves and give me my money back. Wasn't until July 9 they replied and refunded me yet through all this time they continued to advertise the album for sale giving the customer the false impression that it was in stock when the reality was it was never in stock and if you ordered it you probably wouldn't get it for about 8 weeks.

I'm hearing everyone else talk lately about how none of their orders are arriving from CDWOW, something seriously f**ked up is going on with them and I suspect they're on their last legs and have probably cut a sh!t load of staff.

I advise everyone NOT to buy from CDWOW now. If you do you're taking a stupid risk.

At least you're getting e-mails telling you there are delays, the only e-mails I've received are replies to ones I've sent. I've just sent another, this time to Tammy registering my dissatisfaction and the fact that I don't want a bloody refund, I just want my CDs. It'll be interesting to see what the reponse is.

This thread is depressing reading indeed. I hope CDWOW are not gone, anytime I've ordered from them I've received the goods promptly, although I haven't ordered recently. They were the music and DVD buying public's last hope for not being ripped off.

It's a pity if they're gone, I will miss them. Although my music buying stategy has changed, I download most of my music now, and just buy CDs and DVDs for gifts. Looks like that's the way things are going.

I'm sick of ordering pre-order CDs and them not being dispatched on release. Then emailing cutomer service after a couple of weeks to enquire when they would ship, only to be given a date 2/3 weeks down the line. However they still don't ship it then, and you have to send another email to complain, or in my case to ask for the order to be cancelled! It's very disappointing, I only use play and bangcd now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,115 ✭✭✭notahappycamper

Glad to hear people are emailing Tammy - I've just emailed her again as I was advised of a dispatch date of 16th and it's changed again to 20. I suppose I wouldn't mind as much only that they charge you straight away for items and not when they dispatch like other on line sites....

The response i got from Tammy at CDWOW

    "Thank you for your e-mail.

Due to unforeseen circumstances - there was a fire in the building where our
warehouse is based. Whilst we are on the 19th floor and the fire was on the
7th floor, it has unfortunately interrupted business for a few weeks as no
goods could be received in/dispatched out since the elevators were out of
service whilst the Fire Department carried out their investigations as to
    how the fire occurred.

This also affected the systems which we normally use to send out
notification of items being delayed/out of stock since we could not access
these particular systems to send such email notifications.

I can fully appreciate the frustration caused and wish to reassure you that
it is most unusual - business is now getting back to normal and we are are
doing everything to try and catch up with the backlog of goods arriving into
our warehouse so that we can fulfill your order as soon as possible. At
this present time, I am unable to provide you with a confirmation of when
the item will be dispatched - sorry.

If you would prefer to cancel your orders and receive a refund, please do
let me know and I shall action your request accordingly.

    Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

    Kind regards

    Tammy "

They probably started it themselves ;) It's a handy excuse but the delays have been ongoing before the fire incident happened.

I got exactly the same reply. We'll see what happens.

Heard about the fire alright, however if it is legit its a pretty good reason why delivery's have been fecked up and it certainly would cause massive problems for the company

Same as if Play.com's warehouse had a fire above it or below it or whatever :D

Doesn't explain the delays after an order has allegedly been dispatched. I should've gotten my order by now even if it took a week to get out of their building.

got the same response from Tammy as notahappycamper, don't think they even read the emails but just send the standard reply to anyone complaining about delays.

Twice I have said I would like a refund if cd's not definitely being shipped today and I still get the "if you would prefer to cancel your orders and receive a refund, please do let me know and I shall action your request accordingly."

Yeah they use the standard line all the time. They are a bit s l o w. Did you ever get talking to them on the phone - they read the same standard line that they send in the email, they're like robots!!

I don't mind waiting for something but I hate when they keep changing the dispatch date reeeeeally pisses me off     - they need to get better guarantees / assurances from their suppliers or else use different ones.

Preordered a game with Play.com that won't be released until Friday and they have posted it to me today - now that's what quality pre-ordering should be like.

    CDWOW! take note...

  • Registered Users Posts: 950 ✭✭✭Feral Mutant

It took three and a half weeks to dipatch and another two and a half weeks to deliver and two emails they never replied to but my game finally arrived. First and last time I ever use CD Wow.

Got "Casino Royale" today from CD WOW!

  • Registered Users Posts: 513 ✭✭✭Antigone05

where do i start with my problems...

i ordered Forza 2 on the Xbox 360 on the 21st of June. 3 weeks later..nothing in the post. 5 emails later they agree to send it out again.

8 emails later they tell me its out of stock..and they only told me when i asked!!!

another 2 emails today as i am demanding my money back or else im starting a small courts claim against them as they ignore my emails when i ask for a refund and not a replacement..which they have to do.

    never ever use CdWow.ie

Ok, before you start shouting at me, I'm only the messanger. I believe there was loss of life involved regarding the fire in Hong Kong, so at least we are only worrying about a delay and/or loss of a couple of quid :( - I'm also missing some orders so we're all in the same boat.....just thought I'd let you know - keep the faith :(:(:(

Would this fire be the one I got an email about on the 5th June.
    Dear Member

We would like to thank you warmly for your continued support after a difficult week. Sadly there was a serious fire above our warehouse last week. If you wish to read more please visit:

    http://www.thestandard.com.hk/.

The links report is dated May 23rd.

I am waiting on a 2 cds since 13th June.I have learned my lesson at this stage but I am pissed off as I used them a lot.

Does anyone use other sites apart from bangcd that accept laser card?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 975 ✭✭✭squibs

I ordered today (free voucher courtesy of pigsback - so why not). I'll post again if/when it arrives.

Just to follow up on my previous thread.

Canceled order with cd-wow got refund in about 2 days. Ordered cd's from bang cd late last friday so they were probably closed, dispatched Sunday and arrived today. Today being the same date that cd-wow last said they were expecting delivery of my cd.

So all in all bangCD well worth it, cheaper than cd-wow aswell unless you have a voucher.

Also This is a reply I got from Tammy at cd-wow for 2 questions....

    1) It might also be worth putting an In/Out of Stock on the cd info, because at the moment all your cd's appear to be out of stock.

[Tammy] As for showing the stock levels, this is not viable. We have 13 domains and to show stock levels in real time on all domains simply wouldn’t work with the way in which our website is written.

    2) Your new pay system appears not to use a secure server http://www13.cd-wow.com/checkout3.php , should be using https:// for example https://select.worldpay.com

[Tammy] Please rest assured that Paynova is secure. Because Paynova employs a unique transaction method, the webstore can never (and never needs to) see information such as user name, password, account number, card number or validation date when you buy something online. The information transmitted between you (the customer) and Paynova cannot be read or altered by anyone else. No unnecessary confidential information is transmitted.
