I am moving to live in the UK at the end of the month. Planning on driving over with my Irl reg car. Is there anything I have to do before I turn up at the port or can I just drive on and off and then register in the UK at my leisure?

    Thanks

Sell it here first. Prices are way lower in the uk.

    I'm not selling the car.

    Anybody?

I'd advise to get a Certificate of Conformity from the manufacturer. When I've done this in the past, this has been obtained by the original supplying dealer. Might be a small cost involved for this.

    Rest of the details here:

Fairly easy to do and I'm pretty sure you don't have to surrender the Irish Registration so if you do want to sell it, drive it back over, stick the old Irish plates on and sell it for more than in the UK!

Why not? It'll probably ultimately cost you not to.
