How long to cash a cheque?

    First of all sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

    I recently found a cheque for share dividends from 28/7/2006, dont ask me why I didnt cash it then but basically I want to know can I still cash it now or did I just throw away a few hundred quid. Its dividends from Bank of Ireland group if that makes a difference.
    AFAIK its 6 months to cash a cheque but not entirely sure.

    Yea, six months. Contact whoever issued you the cheque and get them to re-issue it.
