Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just bought an oem copy of vista without checking and it is the 64 bit version. Can it be installed on a 32-bit machine or do i need to get a 32 bit version?

64 bit software can run only on 64 bit hardware. 32 bit software can (generally, depending on the processor) run on either.

Fair enough so,cheers. Dont suppose anyone is in the reverse situation and fancise a swap? :) Or is anyone planning on buying the 64-bit version of windows?

One other thing. I assume the cd key is 64-bit specific, yeah? Or could I borrow a 32-bit cd and use my cd key?

Retail Vista - same keys for 32/64-bit

OEM Vista - separate keys for 32/64-bit

Although there is conflicting reports of people successfully using OEM keys intended for another xx-bit version.

I'm looking to buy Vista 64bit, how much would you sell it for, providing you haven't used it....

I'm in the process of a swap through adverts with validreasoning!. He's almost certain the 32-bit copy he has has an unused cd-key. If that falls through it's yours for the value of a 32-bit copy ( I'll check it out now) or if you want to buy a new 32-bit copy and swap.

    Edit:It's €97.50 on Komplett.ie

Actually, while I think of it, as I sadi, validreasoning! isnt 100% sure that the cd key on the copy of vista he's swapping me isnt used. If i get the cd key off him would I be able to ring microsoft and get them to tell me if it is or not?
