Worst songwriter ever???

There's a couple of threads in this forum asking "who's the best?" or "who's your favourite?"....i'm just wondering is there any songwriter that you completely hate??

There's a lot to pick from but i have to say Prince makes my skin crawl....his songs do my head in!!! Feel free to disagree, but thats my opinion on the matter!

Gary Lightbody, presuming he's Snow Patrol's main songwriter.

I don't think he's particularly bad per se, just that I've heard Chasing f'n Cars so many times I could recite it in my sleep, and that entire album feels like one long diary entry of a love-sick teenager who really wishes he'd written High and Dry and Fake Plastic Trees.

And Prince! Prince!? He wrote Nothing Compares 2 U, Raspberry Beret, Let's Go Crazy, Sometimes It Snows in April! Ah well, each to their own.

To the aforementioned Mr.Lightbody I might add Madonna and Anthony Keidis (he's worse because he can be decent when he tries)

Has to be Bryan mcfadden that song he did about the christian brothers was not only ****ing woeful..but a pack of lies. That song about drinking some "english tea" is so bad it hurts. Gary lightbody and Snowplay..i mean patrol get honourable mentions too.

I think I'm thinking of Busted maybe... the ones that had those terrible "it's what I go to school for" type songs. Ick. Painful stuff.

What's wrong with toast??? I love toast!! And the evening news (even though it's full of propaganda) is infomative!!

Depends really on how much input he has on the overall creative process... you can't discount the load of old gems that they have in the collection. My only problem would be with the blatant rip offs they do these days.

Id have to go with Paddy Casey,jnr cert lyrics.Its mostly based on his 2nd album i liked his sweet suburban sky single but seriously it gets very poor after that.and obiously james blunt i dont know how he got away with it.Fair Play . Oh and also bowling for soup!!TERRIBLE

I refuse to call Mcfaden a songwriter.His latest song is realy terrible but what the hell does it say about people that it got to no 1 in Ireland?It was a rip off of an A1 song!!!!!
