    ROLANDO - Detroit

Roland Rocha aka Rolando was born in 1970’s Southwest Detroit. He grew up in the mainly Hispanic
district of the city, which to this day is still dominated by Mexican immigrants looking for work in the heavy industrial
city. From an early age he was influenced by his musical culture with its roots in latin American rhythms and percussion.
He was greatly encouraged by his enthusiastic father, also a well known local musician and as a young teenager
he pursued his own interest in music and became a well known and respected dj in his own right.

It was in the mid eighties that’s he was so inspired when he heard Jeff Mills spin (at the time he was known as “The Wizard”)
that he quickly unearthed the new radical and ground breaking sounds of techno. Then by chance, through a mutual
friend Ruben Gonzalez, he was introduced to the formidable” Mad” Mike Banks and was promptly (to his delight) asked to
become a member and enigmatic Underground Resistance crew. Soon afterwards came his first ever opportunity to cross the
Atlantic and wow audiences worldwide with his mild manner and now infamous speedy turntable proficiency: skillfully
meandering from funky house, gut vibrating electro, the greatest techno classics and new soulful melodic techno - earning
him respect and notoriety within the industry as a whole.

Jaguar broke the ice critically although not Rolando’s first release on UR; it turned archaic perceptions of techno on their head.
It broke through into all other genres of dance and became a classic in the boxes of many noteworthy dj’s such as
Kevorkian, Garnier, Morillo, Tenaglia – even Oakenfold and Giles Peterson. The headlining ensuing battle against corporate
goliath’s Sony was eventually won “even if only morally) by the shear determination of the small independent
label (Underground Resistance) and with the steadfast support of angry activist fans worldwide; providing themselves
once again to be a much loved and respected force to be reckoned with.

Then Rolando launched his own label “Los Hermanos” with then partners Gerald Mitchell and Mike Banks. Already the
label has a number of much acclaimed releases under its belt with Rolando its ambassador at its forefront. Now, Rolando
is free – no longer a member of UR he continues solo as a DJ, Producer and remixer now entering an exciting new phase
in his almost 20 yr long career with his most recent project “Crossroads”, his new label.

    DAVID DURIEZ - Paris

In a time where two thirds of the records being released each week
are sounding the same, either a click and paste formula track made
on Ableton Live in 4 minutes or an Electro House anthem with a
predictable rolling bassline, Duriez still thinks there's hope for
House & Techno. Having played all around the world the last 15
years, having his name on more than 200 records as producer,
composer or remixer, he surely knows the game.

For years, you could read in his biography that he had refused to
champion the filtered disco-abusing sound of the mid-90s and that
this has set him apart from those DJs and producers who over
saturated the market with disrespectful cut-ups. It is even more
true today with too much electronic music out there, not half being
worth listening to. Instead, David has carved out his own niche with
his pigeonhole defying Brique Rouge label, and his helping to
redefine the nations underground music. Brique Rouge has released
deep house, jacking house, tech-house, acid house, vocal anthems and
much more... Definitely a label for open-minded people, not stuck in
one genre of House. Don't believe the Hype but listen to the music !
One of the most conscientious artists on the scene, the size of
    David's discography speaks for itself.

His studio work is alongside an exhaustive DJ schedule, which sees
him take his all embracing style of grooved up House to all corners
of the world on a weekly basis. David is well known for playing
Techno influenced underground House Music, versatile and ahead of
the times, it can be deep, acid, banging, vocal or techno, it doesn't
make a difference except on the dancefloor, the dj booth being
probably one of the place where he is most at ease.

Deemed the producer's producer (since he created a forum specialized
in house producers meetings a few years ago), David Duriez
transcends the boundaries of the industry, going a step beyond the
banal and delivering the real deal. He has been a key man in the
rise of a fistful of the best french labels like Freak n'Chic or
Robsoul and in the long term set up of underground House Music in
France. Exalted by the international press as a representative of
the upper echelon of House Music, he is an underground house
commando with a prowess for striking deep inside enemy lines.

    EAMONN DOYLE - Dublin

Unquestionably a pivotal figure in Irish dance music, Eamonn Doyle
has made his mark - as DJ, producer, label owner/manager, club
promoter, and as all-round advocate and enthusiastic purveyor of all
that is good in techno and electronic music.

He first made his mark in his home country when he co-formed the
now-legendary indie label Dead Elvis in 1991. Converted to the
emerging sound of techno and electronic music, he founded D1
Recordings 3 years later. An unprecedented platform to help push
Irish producers, D1 Recordings has remained consistent in the
quality of its output, and has featured releases from both Irish and
international talent including Donnacha Costello, Dave Donohoe, Mark
Broom, DJ Bone and Keith Tucker. 2004 saw Doyle establish D1ASPORA
as a sister label to focus attention on the diversity of new talent
emerging from within Ireland's electronic music scene. Doyle also
established Model One - the longest running techno club in Ireland.
The club has featured a wide variety of guests down through the
years: from Auxmen, Octave One, and Laurent Garnier, to DJ
Godfather, Peter Ford, and Underground Resistance. As resident DJ at
Model One, Doyle has considerable experience behind the decks and
has played numerous dates across Europe. Doyle also finds time to
produce (as D1 for solo projects, and as Active Service Unit with
Scott Logan), and he has released and remixed for D1 Recordings,
Piranha, Hertz Recordings, Traum and Fugato Technologies.

Doyle has also made a significant and defining contribution to the
development of electronic music in Ireland through his establishment
of DEAF (Dublin Electronic Arts Festival) in 2002 - an annual event
designed to bring the electronic arts both into new environments and
to new audiences. Since its inception, the festival has showcased an
eclectic array of international artists (from Coil to 4Hero,
Resistance, Ulrich Schnauss and Mu-ziq) alongside their Irish
    counterparts.
