Yeh, good game lads, though we defo should have won it.

After Anto's brother called me at 7.15pm to say him and his mate were stuck in traffic and wouldn't make it (even for 2nd half), and Russell just never showed, with no sign of Geoff at kick-off, it was panic stations just before kick-off as we had a grand total of 10 bodies at that stage - we need to add some permanent squad members, no question about it.

We started well and were looking threatening, but then we got caught badly on the break twice in quick succession and they buried both. Geoff arrived to give us an 11th man and we were for me undoubtedly the better team for the remainder of the game and we beat them solidly 11 on 11.

Ed and Shay were bossing the middle as usual and Michael was producing some good balls from left full, and though Ste was truly Henry-like when up front and took his tap-in well, I have to say Gav had a blinder on the right wing - created a lot, didn't take too much out of it, and saved us a few times with good tracking back. Ste's mate Al, who thankfully Ste was able to call to arrive at half-time to give us a sub for a man to have a breather, also looked handy up front. Joe was looking busy up there too and could have had a couple and struck the shot that set Gav up for the rebound which he put away nicely.

Their keeper was defo the busier of the 2 in the second half and we were seriously pressing for the winner at the end, and you have to feel that if the game wasn't cut 10 minutes short due to the ref going off looking for a pen at the start, we'd have clinched it.

another good performance, last night was considering the circumstances(of missing about 8 and starting with 10) a good result, but we still should have won it, we owned the ball and once we got 11 on the pitch, we dominated the game. this was not the first time this season, that we totally dominated the second half and didnt concede. we were 2-0 down after 10 minutes, both goals came when we were on the attack, only we gave away needless possession. the second goal in particular was a sickner, as John hit a rasper that their keeper somehow saved, we won the rebound, gave away possession and one long ball later, we were 2-0 down. still, when geoff came on, we reshuffled the team, shaked things up and got going. from there on in, there was only one team in it. gavs equaliser came with about 15 left and we had about 5 chances to win it. they offered nothing in the second half, bar set pieces, which we dealt with comfortably. still, everybody once again gave their all and some lads, like darragh and mikie played their best games this year.

    missing -
    defense - simon, lepo, keith
midfield - colm, colm, enda, michael
    forward - niall

    thats alot of players missing
