Please tell me that in the physical question that had plates as A, landform as B and mining etc as C, that you could answer on a river landform for B?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,020 ✭✭✭mang87

    It wasn't really important enough.

Sorry I was with you up until here. I agree they should stick to one topic, since its usually forum rules to do so, and its tidier, everyone can express their opinions on it etc.... But who the hell are you to decided his/her opinion is not important enough to warrant a thread?

Because I don't see how her opinion is more important than the others in the Geography exam thread to warrant its own thread.

Like, obviously it isn't nice that she didn't do well in her exam. But it isn't as though she's the only one. Of course not EVERYONE'll be happy with an exam, but just because the general consesus was that the geography paper was alright doesn't mean the people who thought it was crap're entitled to make their own seperate thread to give out about it.

ok sorry if im the only one it came as a shock to but the sample paper in 2006 they gave, the leaving cert in 2006,my mock this year and all the sapmle papers in the exam papers were done with this layout.the guy on 606 also said that they couldnt change the layout.
this just proves that whoever set out this paper wanted screw everyone over.and i was really banking on rivers an all to bring up my grade.i just realised in question one of the regional-the subcontinental q i wrote only about one primary activity-agriculture and they asked about activities.....me and my stupid brain....

go on cheater ya legend thanks for sticking up for me.me not so angry any more :p

I know it said activities, i only did agriculture in India..i think that will be ok...like what other primary activity is there???

To all the idiots who think their mock papers, and any sample paper other than the first is worth using as a basis for if they layout can be changed or not,you really are idiots. Those papers are made by companies not the department.
how the **** do you know what the department have the right to do or not?

Where does it say that questions must stay the same as the one year and one sample paper before? without the layout of the paper being formally expressed as being in that format.

The geography paper gives a ridiculous amount of choice for questions too, you don't get anywhere near that much choice in most exams. So you should be greatful for that alone
what was the deal with the os map-was it a sandy beach os sand dune.is there even much of a difference?

Without seeing the paper, and whiel trying to decipher what you meant. A sand dune would surely have countour lines? While a beach wouldn't really

You know this is the internet, right? Thinking someones opinion doesn't even count enough to have its own thread on the INTERNET, is pretty lame imho. I would say, perhaps, it is important enough. Since everyone deserves to have a voice, and a little thing like a thread on the net, during a pretty ****ing hectic time in a students life, isn't really that big a deal. Man stop policing the internet god damn lol

OP and all others in support of the OP:-

The general idea is that you have one topic per subject opinion. Imagine if everyone that was on Boards.ie doing the LC came and posted their opinions in seperate threads - my god, it would be mayhem.

Therefore, if someone creates a topic before you or any other poster about what they thought about an exam, they generaly dont say "Im just telling ya, but dont respond with what you think!". Instead, the idea is you respond to that OP, and make a comment on his post and on what you thought of the exam.

OP; fair enough, your relatively new around here and mistakes happen. In general, thats how Boards.ie works. Several topics on the one issue is frustarting, and hard to keep a track of peoples comments. Hence, they get merged / locked.

    The charter states;
Away from that, the usual, No Flaming, advertising, porn, etc etc.
    - this issue of several topics on the one issue would fall into the "etc" part. Its all about common sense in regards to the "etc".

Anyway, I think most people got their point across on the OP wanting to be sepearate from the world and posting his/her opinion on one topic. Perhaps ye should focus on either responding to her comment or ignoring it?

(Just a thought from an observer ;))

The beach had one contour line across the top of it. But does that indicate a sand dune or a beach? Every beach has to have some sort of a slope to it.

Thanks for that link actually, didn't realise that was up yet. That paper is pretty easy to be honest. Without having touched geography in a year I'd be confident of doing fairly well in that. Regional is simple, short are even easier, c&i was a gift of a question and economic proccesses was reasonable enough.

I dono't understand the complaining about the physical geography at all, question 1 looks like avery very easy question

I'm going to give you a hint here :) Think of a sand dune as a hill.

How much of an incline are we talking here? It probably would have been a good idea to check the height of the contour line maybe... Brain fart ftl.

There be 2 countour lines, one for each "side" of the hill, or else a circular line

Agreed. Its been over 2 years since I did Geog, and with a small bit of rivision I could do well I think. Maybe not on Regional, as theres a lot to learn..

Sigh, I don't recall seeing 2 lines. Just one running along down the beach just after where it starts. Look like a beach at the time

Yeah, I think out of all the papers so far, Geography has been the worst.
I got a B2 in higher in the mocks and I will be lucky to get a C3 now:(

If you do ever re-consider, know the general rules and forum specific rules (ie charter) while taking common sense into consideration and having a nicer additude without ****ing and blinding every post. K, thanks. :)
