moving money from Ireland to US

Hi my friend is moving to the states soon and will be selling his house. Does anybody know if there is a tax payable on bringing the money into the states?I know when you travel they ask if you have more than 9,999 USD with you. thanks

You can bring as much as you want in, you just need to declare anything over 10,000 USD

Its the 5th document on the list
