Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Windows security centre problems

    caHello

I've searched for a solution to this but no joy so maybe someone can help. I've a new Dell xps m1210 with vista home premium.

I installed AVG and when I used to go into the security centre everything was 'on' with green lights however all of a sudden I'm gettin an alert when I startup and when I go into the security centre malware protection is red.

When i check settings it says windows cannot find any virus software (even though I've the latest AVG on and seems working fine) and windows defender is turned off (when i go to switch it on it searches for definitions and then says none are available).

Can anyone help with this as I'm baffled?

    Many thanks,
    Simon

I have Avast (free antivirus program) running on XP - the only time I have had a Red light on security center is when Avast was not updated.

So my 2c worth is try manually update AVG.
Not sure about Vista but have you got Automatic updates enabled?

    Turn off Security Centre!
All it does is tell you that you're not protected, it's like an overview of Malware, Spyware, AntiVirus Firewall and UAC, but you should know whether you are protected or not by updating your virus, and besides Windows Defender checks for updates and runs at startup anyway.
