Giantkilling escapades? Go on people, go out for a look.

Not in Tolka Park tomorrow anyway.

    14 Jun 2007
    Dundalk -v Athlone Town

    15 Jun 2007
    Tolka Rovers -v- Waterford United
    Malahide United -v- Cherry Orchard
    Limerick 37 -v- Wexford Youths
Phoenix FC -v- St Patrick's Athletic
    Derry City -v- Monaghan United
    Galway United -v- Finn Harps
    Drogheda United -v- Bohemians
    Shelbourne -v- Cork City
    Longford Town -v- Celbridge Town

    16 Jun 2007
    Salthill Devon -v- UCD
    Kildare County -v- Kilkenny City
    Shamrock Rovers -v- Sligo Rovers
    Douglas Hall -v- Cobh Ramblers

    17 Jun 2007
Fanad United -v- St John Bosco
    Bray Wanderers -v- St Mochta's

Drogs vs Bohs is probably the tie of the round, and is on de telly.

Nice to have Cork City back in Tolka Park, but it'll be three nil to them I think.

Heh, I do fancy a beer alright. Another mate of yours, one who doesn't post on this particular site. Name begins with É, bit of a gob****e :D he owes me one anyway. So I'll be seeing yiz in the bar I presume.

Cork City will win. Unless the Dublin Bias fancies a shag.

Cant see an upset there at all, should be played earlier in season to allow non league teams to have a team.

Not even a decent chance of a First Division team doing a Premier Division side-sadly in our case. :(

Maybe if Celbridge had been drawn at home they might have done Longford. But I'm saying that purely on the state Longford are in as I know nothing about Celbridge.

Can't see for the life of me Shels getting anything against Cork Village but it will only be good experience for our young players taking on a side of Cork's quality

Fingers crossed for Malahide United too, pity they are playing the same time as Shels :(

Yeah, best of luck to Malahide managed by Reds legend Bobby Browne! Good luck to Phoenix too. ;)

Dundalk the first team in to the third round after beating Athlone 3-0.

Hard to believe that dundalk were actually priced at 9/1 to beat athlone 3-0 which i found very suprising as dundalk have put 8 past them in two games in the league.

Anyway Were going up with the fai cup !!!

    What is it, 47 years?

If Pat's win the Cup before Shels win the League again I'll buy you a pint.

Going to be strange to see a Cork City team being dominant in Tolka.

    3-0 Id say to City

Dont expect many shocks this weekend, for reasons above.

drogs v bohs should be a cracker and i am sick that i have to miss it :(:(:( my GAA manager has a lot to answer for:mad:

anyway i am predicting 2-0 to the drogs:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,056 ✭✭✭applehunter

As predicted, City dominated Shels but were not threatening in the final 3rd. Dermot Keely has his team working very hard and did well for such a young team.

Anyway in the next round, thats whats its all about.

Once again we see the Regional Bias of the refs against Dublin Shels.

And once again we see a Drunken Roar!!;)

Not much between the teams I thought, we never threatened, City had a few half chances.

Ireland International Joe Gamble was replaced in the first half because he couldn't handle it.

And I really enjoyed abusing Liam Kearney in the second half.

Great performance from our boys (literally!) last night. For a team with 13 fit first team players and missing 5 starting 11 certainties we gave Cork a hell of a fight. If we could only score goals then we would be going places!
Also congrats to Malahide United on a great win against Cherry Orchard :)
    City dominated Shels
Bullsh!t. You had more possession and did little little with what you had. You did not outclass us and the scoreline is accurately reflective of that. You got lucky tonight that our lads badly lacked self-belief and composure going up front (which in fairness we've struggled all season in that department). I think Shels must have been doing something right that players of the supposed caliber like Roy O'Donovan and John O'Flynn have to resort to the lows of cheating by diving in the penalty box on 3 occasions combined, pity we had another ref who had no balls by letting that sh!te go on. O'Donovan can f**k off out of Irish football after his behaviour last night, lost all respect for him now.

Roy doesnt dive, shame on you for saying that he does. Say five hail marys.

We took our time vs Pheonix, wasnt a great game they have a decent keeper and a decent CB so it was just a matter of time really before we got number 2. Kept trying to walk it in. Tbh only our fitness showed in last 20 the goals started flying in and it could have been double figures only for their keeper.

Highlight of game really, coming along well.

Sligo are 2-1 up on Shamrock Rovers.

Maybe shock of night, HT Douglas Hall 2-0 Cobh Ramblers.

went to queenstown last night to see the hall game. hall put in a very solid performance. dunno what happened to cobh. rams had only conceded two goals in their last league 12 games..

but at the same time, better the lost last night than against dundalk next week.

At the same time what about the hammering that would of done to the confidence of the players . As a fan i'd be disgusted with that result.

Harps put out Galway 4-2 on pens last night. 0-0 AET.

When is the draw for the next round.

And Joe Gamble taken off before half-time because he was gonna be sent off for violent conduct. Irish international hero.

    Pitiful display from Cork.

And good to see Liam Kearneys as useless as ever.
