Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Having a number blocked

Does anyone know how long it takes to have a number blocked...I would have thought it was instant.

I contacted Vodafone about having a number blocked so that no calls could be made using the number and no calls could be received and the number is still not blocked. That was last night, does it take 24 hours or something????

Was it lost or stolen? You're covered in terms of credit or your bill once you report it anyway. Usually it's almost instant though - give them a call and see?

    Thanks for the reply.

It was my partners phone, he died a little while back and somebody has got a hold of his phone...we lost it or it was stolen.

I wanted a block put on the number so no one could use it, we know we're not going to get the phone back. Who ever has the phone is using it because they have rang some of the numbers in its phone book, and when they do that the recipient is getting the caller id of some one who is dead. I find this distressing.

I don't really want to ring vodafone again cos it was hard enough to do it in the first place, I might just wait and see.

I deal with vodafone fairly regularly in the office and when i request a lock on a number they do it immodestly for me.

I'd call them then send a fax through requesting it. you are going through a hard time as it is without some tool ringing numbers in the contacts list and upsetting them.

i'm very sorry for your trouble...
They will be hesitant to do it as unfortunatly you are not the registered owner of the number... You will have to prove that you are acting in the best interest of the Registered user
You will certainly have to fax them confirmation to do it and may even have to produce a copy of the death cerificate (if you want it done quickly)

If it was insured and you rang in and pretended to be the registered user and let on it was stolen it would be instant..
