No number -private number on house phone

How do I get this on a house phone? I can get it on my mobile, but is there a sort of prefix that will let me do it on my house phone?

141number...(or 142. I can never remember which hides and which shows) or go ex-directory.

its 141. 142 is to remove private if its on by default. another way is to make your number ex-directory
